Katharina Hering

Katharina Hering served as the Project Archivist for the National Equal Justice Library at Georgetown Law Library from 2012 until 2018. She was responsible for managing all aspects of the work of the NEJL. She collaborated closely with Alan Houseman in producing the new series of NEJL oral history interviews beginning in 2013.

She remains engaged with the CNEJL, where she is particularly interested in further developing the NEJL oral history program.

Hering holds a MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh and a PhD in history from George Mason University. Prior to joining the NEJL, Hering coordinated George Mason University’s oral history program at GMU Libraries for several years, among other positions.

She currently co-chairs the International Archival Affairs Section of the Society of American Archivists and works as the Digital Project Librarian at the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC.
